This newly developed “universal section assembly“ offers a modular joining technique by means of NC-traversable positioning units which is not only suitable for sections but also for panels from various sections of the aircraft models for the very first time.
The system can hold one floor grate and up to four panels. The floor grate and panels are positioned and joined to a section (complete barrel). The required precision is achieved by means of laser technology which is an integral part of the control and measurement technology.
One innovative characteristic of this technique: not just cylindrical sections can be joined in the assembly line but sections with spherical body contours can be joined as well with a minimal change over effort.
