Aircraft geometries have a significant influence on their subsequent performance and maneuverability. Automated joining lines will meet these requirements by optimizing the joining process of fuselage segments and fuselage-wing assemblies by means of computer-aided “best fit” analyses.
Joining lines can also be upgraded with drilling systems, etc., if needed. The software used allows the application of a wide range of various measurement systems (laser tracker, laser radar, IGPS, etc.) from various manufacturers.
The combination of graphic and text displays intuitively prompts the operator through the aircraft-specific assembly processes. BRÖTJE-Automation has successfully installed joining stations for many applications and customers. The machines are characterized by:
- Automated and repeatable joining processes for fuselage and wings
- Traceability to aircraft design data
- Adaptation to changes in the environment, e.g. temperature changes, component tolerances or changes to the process
- Recording of measurement and joining data for a subsequent analysis
- Fully automated axis movement
- The most stringent requirements regarding safety and ergonomics
- Compatibility with e.g. automated drilling and riveting systems or flexible lifting platform systems
