Rudder Assembly

Rudder assembly is characterized by a combination of manual and automated processes. The system is designed in such a way that the manual assembly is supported by a NC-controlled component positioning thus ensuring consistent quality.

The automated drilling and rivet inserting process is done by end effectors which are positioned to the component by means of a portal. The automatic selection of a rivet according to the measured component thickness is a standard feature. Ergonomic aspects have also been taken into account for the design of the system, allowing for the manual finish work to be carried out without any problems.
