Welding cells and facilities for structural automotive components are used to join separate parts to body sub-assemblies such as A and B-pillars, side members and similar components.
Spot welding and arc welding are the main technologies used. Special joining technologies are frequently used to meet the stringent quality requirements called for when using high-strength or hot-worked steels for the assemblies. These include, for example, the use of medium frequency welding techniques or the use of additional structural adhesives.
