Accuracy levels of up to +/- 2 mm are achieved through the use of three phase AC motors. The motors are actuated by means of frequency inverters. Even higher accuracy levels of up to +/- 0.5 mm can be achieved by using special motors.
Brakes
The brake system consists of two independent brake circuits. The mode of operation of the service brake is based on regenerative operation of the drive motors and the parking brake is an electromechanical brake.
